Version 19.0 IME squad

Postby mwr0707 on Tue Mar 26, 2024 1:50 am

It seems that with the install of version 19.0, I've lost the Shift+Ctl+L input keystroke for squad. Similar keystrokes, for example Shift+Ctl+4 for grade up work fine. I can also enter squad through the language bar. Finally, since installing version 19.0, I've lost the ability to use Shift+CTL+L for squad on version 18.2 as well.

Hi mwr0707,

I can type ⌷ with Ctrl+Shift+L with my 19.0 Unicode IME using a file derived from en-GB.din.

I would like to ask what your settings are please.

In Options->Configure->Unicode Input, press on the Configure Layout... button and let me know what the version number of the IME is, and also what Input Translate Table .din file is in use please.

Please send us an email with the information to support@dyalog.com.

Regards,

Vince

Hi all,

I have been in an email discussion with mwr0707 about this. The issue has gone away.

To everyone reading this, if this Ctrl+shift+L not giving squad issue happens to you, or something similar, please let us know by emailing support@dyalog.com.

One or both of the below actions may have helped the issue go away.

1) Please start the Task Manager with Ctrl+Shift+Escape and go to the details tab.

Sort on CPU with most CPU usage at the top.

In Dyalog, press Ctrl+shift+L a few times. Do you spot any new process coming to the top briefly?

Or does the Squad glyph ⌷ appear?

2) In Options->Configure->Keyboard Shortcuts,

If you click on an item which does not have a shortcut keystroke such as EL Empty the line under cursor

In the edit field on the right, if you type Ctrl+shift+L, does it conflict with anything?

Press the X in the edit field to clear the selection and hit the cancel button.

Regards,

Vince
