File or assembly name bridgennn ... was not found

Postby Morten|Dyalog on Sat Sep 27, 2008 12:20 pm

The full error message is:

File or assembly name bridgennn, or one of its dependencies, was not found.

Version 12.1 Unicode
If you move a Dyalog-based assembly to a different machine than the one on which they were created, and the Dyalog development environment is not installed on that machine, there are 3 files that need to be installed on the target machine:

dyalognet.dll needs to be installed into the GAC (Global Assembly Cache located in c:\windows\assembly)
bridge121_unicode.dll needs to be installed into the GAC and must be on the system PATH
Also, dyalog121rt_unicode.dll needs to be installed on the system PATH (or dyalog121_unicode.dll if the assembly is not exported as a RUNTIME assembly)

You can locate these files in:
C:/Program Files/Dyalog/Dyalog APL 12.1/bin
C:/Program Files/Dyalog/Dyalog APL 12.1 Unicode/bin

Version 12.1 Classic
The instructions for the Unicode version apply with two differences: remove the _unicode from all the above names and look for files in C:/Program Files/Dyalog/Dyalog APL 12.1 Classic/bin.

Version 12.0
As above, but change the 121 in filenames to 120.

Version 11.0
As above, but change the 121 to 110.

You should also make sure you have the latest versions of these dlls, which can be obtained from the dyalog DSS website. http://www.dyalog.com/dss/dss.htm
