Status of Ibeams 2010 and 2020?

Postby Dick Bowman on Thu Nov 10, 2011 4:23 pm

What's the current staus of 2010⌶ and 2020⌶?

The documentation has disclaimers about "experimental" and "subject to change without notice".

Creating and using DataTables seems pretty ubiquitous in .NET. Are these Ibeams still the things to use or have I missed something?

Hi Dick,

The basic functionality of the ibeams will stay. We may at some point replace them with more formal "Dyalog.DataTable.[names]" methods, and/or we may tweak the parameters that the ibeams take to extend the functionality.

It might be a good idea to use cover functions for the ibeams (I suspect you do anyway) just in case we make either of the changes I've suggested.

Best Regards,
John Daintree.

I understand - just thought that they'd had that "experimental" status for a long time and assumed I'd sleepwalked through some announcements.
