Is there a delay in showing the Tip of the Language Bar ?

While using v18, it seems to me that there is almost no delay in showing the tip when the mouse is over one of the APL characters of the language bar in the session window. So when the mouse goes over the language bar to click on a menu item of the session window there is a tip that is appearing almost all the time that is blocking the menu I want to click on.

Is there a way to add some delay to the showing of the tip of the language bar?

Hello Dyalog, a simple yes or no will suffice.

I'm not Dyalog but it may be of interest that in my machine I get a delay of about half a second before the first but they're more-or-less instantaneous as I move from one to the next. Same as the icons in the tool bar. That delay does not change if I change the delay for value tips or autocomplete.

Hello Phil, thanks for taking the time to share your experience. For me, it is very annoying those tooltips because there is no delay. For something that is at its version 18 a little bit of more refinement would be appreciated. But looks like I am the only one being annoyed by this behavior (everybody else is using RIDE and VS Code ?).

P.S.: Don't get me started with what else is wrong with this IDE.

Pierre, I am sorry we let your post go unanswered when you first posted it.

As Phil said, there is a very slight delay when first moving over a language bar element.

I have logged an RFE for this delay to be configurable or for an option for the hints to be turned off.

Hi,

I have used quite many IDEs recently due to my studies and I have to say I really love Dyalog's one. Of course some of the languages are compiled ones which I have used so you can't even compare those but I really can speed up my coding with Dyalog. I have to admit It's the first one which I have somehow learned, but I really love the ability to debug, edit and use workspace at the same time.

And Pierre if the language bar is disturbing you you can always hide it or change it's place. It quite nice to have it at the bottom of window.

the problem is the Tip often obscures the tool so I cannot choose the tool. I don't mind the Tip showing right away.
